Music: Soul, R&B, Dance - 60s to mid 90s. The full range - anything from the deepest soul to the cheapest bit of disco tat is welcome at mine! :-) I'm not a fan of jazz (jazz-funk yes) or James Brown-type funk. I tend to prefer my soul slinky and uptown rather than raw and earthy (I'm a Philly/Chicago guy rather than a Memphis one). I hardly listen to anything from the last 10 years, I find most contemporary R&B virtually unlistenable - maybe it's my age, but I feel it all started to go horribly wrong sometime in the mid 90s. The current British music scene is desperate and, with a few honourable exceptions, the American is little better. If you ask me, by far the most vibrant and interesting music nowadays comes from France, Poland and North & West Africa.
STATEMENT re COPYRIGHT All the tracks I upload are from my personal collection which I have legitimately paid for. There is no gain to me other than sharing great music. I do not send music to others via mp3s, on the contrary I encourage the purchase of tracks/albums either on physical CD or via legal download from accredited sites, as I feel this is only fair to artists, composers and music companies. If however you own the rights to any tracks I have posted and do not want your track(s) to be showcased on YouTube, please message me and I will comply with any requests for removal. --------------------------------------------- To anybody who's just stumbled across this channel - hello and welcome! The music info below is pretty much what this channel is about. Most of the tracks I post are ones I can't find elsewhere on YT. I try to mix things up by posting music from all parts of the soul/dance spectrum, also by uploading both well-known and relatively obsure/specialist tracks, so if you spot an artist or track you've never heard of, give it a listen! I also post non soul/dance tracks which I love and think deserve to be here. I'm always open to requests, so if you've been looking for as particular track which you can't find, let me know and if I have it, I'll post it. And thanks y'all for getting my little old channel into the all-time UK top 100 - I'm humbled and very honoured!!!!Videos (604)
