A JOBROMANCE: ACCIDENTALLY IN LOVE CHAPTER 9, PART 2 (A few hours later, the boys picked up the girls at Jessica's house. They went to see their movie, and then each went their separate ways) *with Joe and Hilary* JOE: So, high school graduate, feel free to order whatever you want. HILARY: Ok, all I want is a vanilla milkshake. JOE: Suit yourself, but I'm planning on getting a belgium waffle, and hash browns. HILARY: Did you not eat dinner? JOE: Yeah, but I'm a hungry boy. HILARY: I've started to notice that, Joe. JOE: So, are you girls coming to the concert tomorrow? HILARY: Oh! I almost forgot. We got tickets last week before we met you, but they are terrible. JOE: Well, I can fix that. How does front row and backstage passes sound? HILARY: Sounds perfect. *with Nick and Valerie* (the two were walking, holding hands) VALERIE: Where are we going exactly? NICK: You'll see. (they walk and talk about some things, then they get to their destination...) VALERIE: Nick, this place is beautiful. I've never been here at this time of day, when did you find this? (It was the shore of the lake with rocks all around it, benches, and a red covered bridge. There were roses planted everywhere and the moon reflected just right so it was shining on the two of them) NICK: The other night when I was on a walk while I was on the phone with you. VALERIE: I love it. NICK: It can be our place. We can come here when we need to talk. It just seems so serene, calming. VALERIE: Beautiful... NICK: Just like you. VALERIE: You cheeseball. (laughs) NICK: I know. I am. So, you coming to the concert tomorrow? VALERIE: Well, Hil just texted me and apparently Joe is going to hook us up with front row tickets and backstage passes. NICK: Awesome. I can't wait for you guys to see us perform live. *with Kevin and Jessica* (They decided to go to a nearby coffee shop and talk) JESSICA: So, Kevin, it's seemed like something was bothering you the other night when we hung out, and we've barely talked since. Is something wrong? KEVIN: Well, no, not really. JESSICA: Oh. It was just weird that...never mind. KEVIN: No, go on, we're friends you can tell me. JESSICA: That's exactly it. We're friends. Nothing more. You kissed me; you led me on, then you changed everything about the way you were treating me. KEVIN: I know, but I'm doing what I am to protect you. JESSICA: Protect me? From what? KEVIN: You don't understand, Jess. It's complicated. JESSICA: That's not a good answer, Kevin. Of course I don't understand; you won't tell me. KEVIN: Jessica, believe me I know what I'm talking about. I care about you, I really do, but which is why I'm doing this. It's better this way. JESSICA: I still don't understand why you're shutting me out, but truthfully I don't care anymore. Goodnight, Kevin. (stands up) Have an awesome concert tomorrow night. I'm walking home. (runs out of coffee shop) KEVIN: (goes outside to chase after Jessica) Jessica, wait. I need to explain. JESSICA: (turns around) You've had your chance. I don't want to hear it anymore Kevin. Please, if you care about me so much then you'll respect my wishes and leave me alone. (clearly, Kevin can hear her crying while she says this) KEVIN: (lets Jessica run away, and says to himself under his breath) I have really blown it this time. (walks back to his house and goes to sleep) How will the concert go tomorrow? Will Jessica be ok? Did Kevin realize his mistake? Will Jessica forgive Kevin? Read the next chapter to find out!
