Jul 9, 2008 - The US had huge bases in the Philippines. Around '93 the Philippine govt notified our govt...in writing...that we were to vacate the bases by a set time. We did. We'll do the same in Iraq. But they need to provide it in writing via normal diplomatic channels...not in a throwaway comment during an interview. Here's the truth; the Iraqis are posturing for their upcoming elections, and do NOT want us to leave until they can handle the security on their own. Chris needs to settle down.
