There have been reports of strange lights in the sky associated with their appearance. The images shown here are graphic depictions of the types of crop circle formations encountered. They are only included as a rough guide, and do not represent any particular crop circle pattern that has been found to date. Although they are all impressive in their own way, perhaps the most mysterious are the early ones that consisted of just one simple circle in the field. This early type of plain crop circle may be viewed as the definitive type. To this day they remain one of the great unsolved mysteries.
