Aug 9, 2008 - No, but you don't gain any.

Aug 14, 2008 - you don't gain or lose performance, with a aftermarket bov but you do prelong turbo life by relieving the pressure from returning to the turbo.

Sep 2, 2008 - how's the car been running with the BOV installed? how's the shifts?
JeepDrifter06 Says:
Sep 3, 2008 - actually inspiredtalent is wrong. most newer cars are run with a mass air flow sensor...so you may lose power with an after market bov, because most are atmospherical, wich means it does not recirculate the unused air back to the intake. that means the cars runs rich between shifts and could potentially cause slight power loss.
EnzoFirrari2k6 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - WRONG. Especially on a subaru. The factory BPV(bypass valve) recirculates air into the intake before the turbo. This air is accounted for by the MAF(Mass Air Flow sensor). If the aftermarket VTA(vent to atmosphere) BOV releases all this air-the car will inject the amount of fuel as if that air was coming back into the engine. Therefore the car will run rich and slow after shifts-AKA loss in performance. EPIC FAIL "inspiredTalent". (if the car is tuned for a bov it will run fine, but not better)
