I was in Osaka for the day for a few things. I had some free time in the afternoon to wander around Namba in downtown Osaka. I checked out Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori and American Mura (which means American Village). America Mura アメリカ村is a hip shopping area where a lot of Osaka's trendier and cooler looking youth hang out on the weekends. I of course stuck out like a sore thumb for my complete lack of trendiness and coolness. I still enjoyed having a beer and watching life! Of yeah...there was some sort of fire while I was there. You can actually hear the sirens in the background of my last "Tommy Lee Jones" video. I was close by in Dotonbori filming when it happened. Jul 7, 2008 - The way Japanese youth mix and match fashion is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing this all!

Jul 7, 2008 - It's pretty damn amazing! Every time I see young Japanese people, it puts things into perspective.....I realize how "un-hip" I really am! hehe

Jul 7, 2008 - I don't know, but I'm planning on dropping off a job application! hehe

Jul 7, 2008 - Hey love the video. Oh and question. Do you play a Reel Big Fish song in every video? It sure does seem like it.
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I sure do....it`s the theme song to my little intro! I`ll make a new intro very soon...I`m already getting bored of the one I have. Unfortunatley I`m using Windows Movie Maker so my `cool editing` factor is limited. Thanks for diggin the vid!

Jul 8, 2008 - I suppose that does sort of resemble Japan Town, down near San Francisco... xP Thanks for taking the time to show us the sights on your Saturday, Kevin! Excellent video. (^_^) Btw, do you know if anyone get hurt in the fire?
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 8, 2008 - Don't think so. I didn't see ambulances racing away from the scene. It was mostly firefighters and police. Is Japan Town in San Fran big? I haven't been to the West Coast of the U.S. yet.
JayDeLart Says:
Jul 8, 2008 - Oh, that's good. I'm not entirely sure how big Japan Town is, to be honest. I know there are several Japanese neighborhoods within the immediate area around it, but when I checked the map, it turned out they didn't consider those areas to be a part of "Japan Town", so it seems, officially, it's small.

Jul 8, 2008 - Love the videos, keep them coming. What were you drinking at the end of the vid?
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 8, 2008 - Thanks! It was a Kirin Lager...one of my favorite Japanese beers! It especially tasted good since it was so hot out :)

Jul 9, 2008 - it's not really big. i lived for a couple months over there and was close by so i did frequent the place the area a few times. i'd describe it as a little quaint few blocks. In JapanTown, they had a denny's over there and if im correct, they're the only denny's that serves fried rice!

Jul 9, 2008 - I really liked the shot of the japanese fireman. Great outfit.
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 9, 2008 - Yeah...looks like they're ready to deal with some major heat!
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 9, 2008 - Would never think to go to Denny's for fried rice!

Jul 16, 2008 - What program do you use to edit your videos? Because when i go to Korea i want to keep a video journal for my family sort of like you have. What kind of camera do you use? is it true that Korea is two years ahaed of the U.S in Cell Phone Technology? Im very curious, sorry, Thanks
BusanKevin Says:
Jul 16, 2008 - I'm just using Window Movie Maker which comes with all pc's. It's limited but can do simple editing. I use a Sony Cybershot handheld digital camera to take vids. And yes....Korean cell phones are years ahead of anything in the States. When I moved back to Canada last year I bought a new phone yet it seemed like I was stepping back in time!

Aug 24, 2008 - Im not positive but I was told by my japanese friend half women is a term they use for lesbians. It means that their spirit or some such is half of a womans and half of a mans(because they like women)

BusanKevin Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - hehe...at times that is true!
