If you want private, go dark. And there are already plenty of youtube alternatives, some hosted in 'pirate' zones like Russia where you can upload copyrighted stuff all you want. Just don't expect privacy on the public net.

People seem fine with losing privacy as long as they get their entertainment/infotainment, especizally if it's free. Blunt is fine, I'm pretty frustrated myself about privacy concerns esp. in light of the recent legislation protecting companies who help the govt. spy on us. I think also I get tired of all the blindly anti-IP stuff and lumped you in w/ that, sorry.

If you want to legally host your own web page without going through a 3rd party you need to have a static IP address. This is a minority of the internet-user population, but their rights are important, too.
