In 1997 Lanny Lamphere, a environmental photojournalist living in Norman, OK, filmed a UFO ( Object ) in a thunderstorm. The mainstream media picked up the story and made Lan famous overnight even though he never said that this thing he had filmed was a little green man, or even a UFO. The technology didnt exist in 1997 to share this video with the world. but now it does. Here is a part of the story that rocked Oklahoma and the rest of the world including for the first time the actual Object Video and chaser highlights from Memorial Day 1997 near Loco, OK. Oct 7, 2008 - Very interesting video. Have you ruled out ice... but like you say it would of left some kind of trace of an impact on the ground. Also if it was ice,the shape of it,if spinning could send it on a different path.....just an idea. Thanx for showing this.

Oct 8, 2008 - Ice is a possibility... Never thought about it... But, the "Ice" would have had to be 30" long and 18" thick (Oval in shape) traveling at Mach 9 to 16 at the altitude of 5 to 7 hundred feet. Despite the matrix of the "object" it still defied all known laws of physics.

The problem with that theory, or any other theory pertaining to something being close to the lens, is that another video, and still photo of this 'Object' exist that was shot by Brian Swatiway of KOCO 5 TV in OKC, and another storm chaser that was positioned a mile to our west. That information is not covered in this short but will be covered in the extended version of this film if we decided to complete it.

Oct 8, 2008 - Well i do hope you post/release the extended version off the 'Object'. It does seem to be coming from the direction of your right shoulder and would of been pretty dam close but no sound at all..is the still photo any improvement than the video, image quality i mean?. Did you investigate or look into if there were any radar's (air traffic maybe)that was tracking in that area at the time, that may have seen this..or logged an unusual event.

Oct 8, 2008 - I'm looking for funding to produce a full documentary on the event.. No luck as of yet but we have a few nibbles. Yes, we investigated that question with the FCC who were very helpful. Nothing was on radar at the time in that area of OK. As far as we can tell, no one who captured this image on camera saw it with the naked eye. The still image shows almost the same view as the tape I shot. The shutter speed was slower than the video so it appears as a streak.

Oct 9, 2008 - You could get a triangulation then IF you knew exactly where the cameras were positioned at the time. I would like to see the photo, can you post it somewhere or email it to me uncompressed?

Oct 9, 2008 - Its because of the other two pieces of event evidence that we were able to triangulate the object on video. That is how Skeet Vaughn and Bruce Maccabbee where able to come up with the size, distance, altitude and speed of the object.

Oct 19, 2008 - Again, I wish it were a "small scared white bird." But another video and a photograph was shot that captured this event as well. And they were taken from a combined two miles away by other storm chasers. One that worked for KOCO channel 5 in Oklahoma City, and another freelance hobby chaser.
