1934 Here are the coverages of the magazine "VU" from January till April, 1934. The beginning of this year been rather hard for France, with notably the tragic end of affair Stavinsky in January (he will be found "committed suicide "). This affair will be the main reason of riots of February 6th, 1934 in Paris, which nearly overturned the Republic. (They can see the head of government Edward Daladier trying to keep Marianne (symbol of the Republic) on a coverage). Further to riots, Daladier will be replaced with Doumergue. Leopold III, new king of Belgians since on February 23rd, is also the coverage, after the accidental death of his father. "VU" also get worried about Nazism and about the chancellor Hitler, put for one year there. They fear a new war déja: to see " Hitler arme " (" Hitler arms ") or else "Allemagne: Mobilisation industrielle " (" Germany: Industrial Mobilization ").The magazine makes comparison the same between a democratic society and a totalitarian society: " Jeunesse française; Jeunesse allemande " (" French Youth, German Youth "). Therefore, the magazine does not forget light subjects, and it celebrates the arrival of the spring in Paris!
