Jul 5, 2008 - How did u figure out all those BMI's? Wouldn't you have to know every famous persons actual weight? Also,I don't think u can count all the men with alot of muscle because muscle weighs more than fat.Nice Video though,Thanks :)

Jul 5, 2008 - The BMI chart is accurate for most people, but when you take an athlete who has a lot of muscle mass, it is not an good overall judgement of their health. However, for someone who weighs a lot due to excess fat on their body, it is an effective tool. Not to be mean, but just because you have the same BMI as someone else does not make you equally as healthy. From the looks of it, you do need to lose some weight, and consider what the BMI charts say is a good weight. Think about your health!:)

Jul 5, 2008 - Just so you know, I did not mean that in an offensive way at all, and I admire you for promoting size acceptance. It's just important to consider your health as a factor as well!:) It's great that you are happy with your body the way it is, but I do think that there is some truth in what the BMI charts have to say.

Jul 5, 2008 - Don't ya just love how the health nazi's armed with the corporate media's bias completely miss the point - you can tell from the looks of it, or someone's weight, or someone's BMI what their health is. There are far more influencing factors than health.

Jul 5, 2008 - **edited - you CAN'T tell :P typo. Just like thin people have heart disease, cancer, and the like.

Jul 5, 2008 - Hey! I got them off of various websites. I confirmed three different websites their BMI before including them. The muscle guys is the point as well...because the BMI doesn't take that into consideration.

Jul 5, 2008 - Thanks for being honest. The thing is though, I was on the Alli diet for 6 months, and I exercise every day, and I gained twenty pounds. They tested me for hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and pregnancy. I had none. I have tried to lose weight. I am thinking it is just genetic with me, since all the members on my mom's side of the family are obese. I exercise daily, and eat as healthy as i can afford (organic stuff is expensive). I have no health problems regarding weight.

Jul 5, 2008 - I am a hypochondriac,If I had ANY health problem remotely close to obesity, I'd do everything I could to lose weight. Problem being,I already tried everything I could. I almost resorted to anorexia and bulimia, but I saw what it did to a close friend of mine and didn't. I was depressed for months because of my weight. My fiance, and books, and friends helped me get what it takes to start working on my self esteem. Now I am happy and healthy. I admit I am fat. I don't think I am severely obese.

Jul 5, 2008 - Ehm no.....ur last point was WRONG!!! The Bmi chart does NOT say a Bmi under 17.5 is mildly underweight it says its severly unhealthy Thats a body of an Anorexic And a Bmi of 18 is NOt Healthy either anything under 18.5 is unhealthy!! And there is adiferent scale for those witha large muscle mass
burgundyrose1986 Says:
Jul 5, 2008 - Weird...that's not the scale my doctor gave me. It said anything between 18 - 25 is healthy, anything 15-17 is mildly underweight, anything under 15 is severely underweight, anything 26-29 is overweight, anything 30-34 is obese, anything 35-39 is severely obese and anything 40 and up is fatally obese. Are they different in different parts of the world??? I live in Midwestern United States

Jul 5, 2008 - wow they rly need 2 revise their categories!!
hello0129 Says:
Jul 5, 2008 - I admire your ability to accept your body how it is. I am glad you didn't go down the road of anorexia, as I have been there myself. I am recovered now, and my doctor would like my BMI to be above 15, which may seem low, but since I was naturally very thin before anorexia, it is healthy for me. If that is your BMI and you have no health problems related to obesity, then I suppose it must be the right weight for you. I guess everyone is different, and that's just the way we were meant to be :)
guitarlovenjc Says:
Jul 5, 2008 - No. Way off. There is a difference between fat and muscle weight, a big difference.
burgundyrose1986 Says:
Jul 5, 2008 - Thank you for responding. I agree. I believe everyone is different. Some people are naturally skinny, some are naturally fat, that's why babies are born both ways, I guess. The thing that sucks though is that the media and society doesn't accept that theory, so neither do people on the whole. I am sorry you suffered with anorexia. Someone close to me suffered it, and it is tough watching someone you love do that too. I am glad you overcame it.
moroney1 Says:
Jul 6, 2008 - no....every1 is the same....ive been in a clinic for the last 14 weeks fighting anorexia and if u have to get up to a minimum bmi of 19.............that is the LOWEST u can go. If ur in the 16 category.....its life threatening

Jul 15, 2008 - I'm a huge fan of mandy moore. but she did not look underweight. i think she looks perfect and healthy. i doubt her bmi is 16. because most models bmi's are 16. and shes the same height as most of them. but she looke nothing like those twig models. just saying you might want to recalculate that!!
