DG did say in an interview about "someone" diving deep into work which I think will be Cane because he doesn't want Cholho and he can't (I assume)have Lily so I think his character will change. Cane is going to be a sad, different man without Lily. Cholho may think she got him but she never will. In a couple of months (I hope not that long though) Lily will have the last laugh!
