If you convert a Viper 5 to 9x18mm early in the game, it will be less frustrating than being stuck using shotguns and pistols that sho0t bullets or pellets that disappear. That's part of what makes this game unnecessarily screwy -- bullets and pellets and disappear after a certain distance. It's true that bullets travel at an arc and lose stopping power as they lose velocity and slow down as they travel. But they don't disappear!

Oct 16, 2008 - You can pay mechanics to convert them but there's no visible change to the weapon model -- even if you get a longer barrel or extended magazine.

Oct 16, 2008 - oh you can convert weapons now? kewl. I actually did some research and found out that the 9x18's width is rounded down, its more like 9.2 or something like that, so I'd imagine you'd have to bore out the barrel a bit to use it...
