052... Gravely Hammond Organ & "New Age Piano" patch (part II). A simple I-VI-II-V-I; FMaj7-DMin7-GMin7-CMaj/Aug5-FMin7 chord progression. Original composition. Left mitten is seen switching the built-in Leslie rotary speaker in the Hammond Spinet, from slow/choral to fast/tremelo, and back to slow speed for the finish. When the Leslie starts speeding-up the chords can get that "splashy" effect, somewhat audible here. The tabs down, seen from center to upper leftwards are: Reverb I and Scanner Chorus, though Chorus is not on/engaged by the Vibrato tab: 2 tabs up. No percussion settings or presets were on in this recording. The keyboard atop the organ is a Radio Shack MD-981 portable = to Casio type, used only as a MIDI controller for a Kurzweil 1200 PRO I Module (bottom right screen) The MD-981 is NOT "velocity sensitive" and I wouldn't want it any other way, especially for this application. This "New Age Piano" patch sounds like a very old but perfectly operable Henry F. Miller in an empty room. No sustain petal needed for this sound. I'm very happy with the Kurzweil's humane, quirky, and idiosyncratic performance, tones, and textures. Sounds musicians won't soon tire of. Stay tuned for more Vids featuring more of it's killer sounds! Comment & Rate. Thanks
