WHEN: Friday, August 29... 10 pm, Saturday, August 30...10 pm, Sunday, August 31..3 pm Mascher Space Cooperatives IN FLUX series showcases works-in-progress by emerging and mid-career local choreographers and follows each showing with a conversation about the works, led by an artist-moderator. IN FLUX choreographers auditioned their finished work before a panel in May, where works by Sarah Gladwin Camp, Rebecca Lloyd-Jones, Erica Saben, and Kathryn TeBordo were chosen to be presented in the 2008 Live Arts Festival. A four-piece sampling full of experimentation and creativity, IN FLUX will introduce audiences to the next wave of choreographers in Phillys ever-growing dance community. Sarah Gladwin Camp Not On Tuesday What possibilities lurk behind the shiny double doors when you bump someone in the elevator? One day a curious stroke of serendipity places Aife and Marc behind the same doors. Awakened, yet slow to let down her guard, Aife is whisked into an effervescent and striking adventure spurred forth with the goal of catching stars. The two strangers find their journey dappled with unexpected affections and aversions as their discoveries unfold together; stumbling along in the particular way of perfect unfamiliarity. The ordinary becomes new again; the quiet is buried and rediscovered. Rebecca Lloyd-Jones Seabee Is land a body of water that we sail through? How do we change depending on the environment and expectations we face, and how do we multi-face and multi-task between places and states? How do we carry different identities of ourselves in different places and in the "between spaces"? How do we live with so many elements, characters, expectations, cultures, languages, identities, and changes all at once in this fast-paced and multi-faced living style?
