San Diego's color may shine a little more red, white, and blue do to its exploding economy thanks to the US Armed Forces. The study conducted by the University of California at San Diego's School of International Relations and released by the San Diego Military Advisory Council showed that the combined union of the military and civilian support brings about a $25 billion dollar economic impact to the city. 27% of all jobs in the county are connected to the Defense Department presence in the region. Navy Region Southwest Commander Rear Adm. Len Hering stated, "This report underscores what I think we have known for a very long time, that there is no place else in the country for a more dynamic, mutually supportive civilian-military relationship than what we all enjoy here in San Diego,". "In short, we could ask for no better partner." SDMAC plans to use the report as a basis for yearly updates. www.EmploymentCrossing.com
