Late in the first half Haverhill marched to the Billerica 5, but the Hillies were stopped on downs, but a Billerica punt out of its own end zone was blocked to give the ball back to Haverhill on the Billerica 2-yard line with 29 seconds left in the half. Sixteen points were scored in the next 12 seconds of the game as Haverhill scored on a quarterback keeper by senior Isaiah Ocasio, but the Hillies two-point pass attempt was intercepted by Billerica lineman Daniel O'Connor and returned 98 yards to give Billerica the two-point conversion. LaSpada returned the ensuing kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown. Billerica used the old fumble-rooskie play on the two-point conversion as the kick holder laid the ball on the ground and kicker Wayne Bolz picked it up and went around the left end.
