The first ever intergenerational fine arts festival in St. Johns County took place on the banks of Julington Creek no Oct. 4, 2008. Northwest RiverFest at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek showcased adult and student visual artists as well as performing artists from the area. The festival featured a Youth Art Competition called "Celebrate the River" by students from area schools. The St. Johns Riverkeeper provided a hands-on educational exhibit by river's edge. "Art on the Move" is an innovative adult fine art exhibit that will remain in residence at Westminster Woods through Nov. 28 when it will then move to its next host business in the county. "Art on the Move" is comprised of members of the Northwest Arts Advisory Group, an extension of the St. Johns Cultural Council, the county's official arts organization.
