This is a tribute to one of my favorite summers ever. In the spirit of giving credit where credit is due: I wrote the hook with Aaron Westine on the drums, the title is courtesy of Jenny Reuter in a brilliant stroke of dyslexia, and the lyrics are inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke's poem 'The Almond Trees in Blossom' I don't know where I'm going but I've been there before I can see your hair in the breeze I can taste the sweat on your neck Endlessly I stare at you in wonder Should I flow from inner knowing? Am I ready for more? I can see your hair in the breeze I can taste the sweat on your neck Endlessly I stare at you in wonder What if the means could justify the ends? Let's follow the seed where wisdom's virtue sends And when love opens hearts and makes friends Then the means justify the ends When we learn how to blossom our heart will pass beyond I can see your hair in the breeze I can taste the sweat on your neck When we learn how to blossom We'll pass beyond every small danger and find peace in the greatest one of all I can see your hair in the breeze I can taste the sweat on your neck Endlessly I stare at you in wonder What if the means could justify the ends? Let's follow the seed where wisdom's virtue sends And when love opens hearts and makes friends Then the means justify the ends Thanks to the McCloskey family for their wonderful energy and the peaceful vibes that emanate from each one of them. A blessing and inspiration beyond words. www.myspace.com/dakotaleemartinezmusic
