The Super Mario Bros. theme from the old NES, without a doubt the most memorable video game theme song in the history of video games, played on the theremin. I made this video mainly because I wanted to say "hi, i'm still here," but also to let everyone know I'm working on a new project and I'm in need of your support in order to complete it. Nov 16, 2008 - the iron bars you see are actually antenna's depending on how far your left and right hands are from their respective antenna's the machine produces a sound on a particular pitch, moving your left hand determines the length (so kinda like the strumming hand on a guitar) of the note whilst the right hand takes care of the pitch and by moving fingers independently you can have the pitch vary etc. Very mystic instrument.

Nov 17, 2008 - Almost right. The left hand actually controlls the volume of the tone, while the right had varies the pitch. How you hold your fingers does not affect the sound, only the distance. However, you move your fingers in a specific pattern to create scales. In related, have a look at Theremin Lesson One.
