These are excerpts from a documentary film about the relationship between Turkey and Europe that was filmed and broadcasted on l'Hebdo televison in Belgium in 1997. Th main point in question is whether Turkey is westernized or modernized enough to be able to become part of the European Union. After interviewing the head of Galatasaray High School, and a carpetdealer the modern young Turkish girl Shenaz, studying at Galatasaray High School, then interviews two Turkish cultural figures, the classical Turkish music master Cinuçen Tanrıkorur and the famous writer Aziz Nesin in their homes. The excerpt presented from this film is the encounter of Shenaz with the master Cinuçen Tanrıkorur in his home where he is listening to his student Gül Göre playing the Turkish oud and singing in the same manner of her teacher. She is singing Tanrikorur's song composed in the maqam Uzzal-Hijaz entitled "Geçerek / Passing through". Ces extraits ont été obtenus d'un film documentaire sur les relations qu'entretient la Turquie avec l'Europe. Il a été filmé et transmis sur la chaîne de télévision l'Hebdo en Belgique en 1997. Le sujet principal traitait de la question suivante: Est-ce que la Turquie est assez occidentalisée ou modernisée pour pouvoir joindre l'Union Européenne? Après avoir interviewé le directeur du Lycée Galatasaray, un marchand de tapis, des commerçants, et une jeune femme moderne Turque Shenaz qui étudiait au Lycée Galatasaray, il a interviewé deux personnalités culturelles Turques chez eux: le maître de musique classique Turque Cinuçen Tanrikorur, et le célèbre écrivain Aziz Nesin. L'extrait montré dans ce film est la rencontre de Shenaz avec le maître Cinuçen Tanrıkorur chez lui. Là, il écoute son élève Gül Göre jouer le Luth Turque et elle qui chante de la manière qu'il lui a inculqué. Elle chante la chanson de Tanrikorur, composée en maqam Uzzal-Hijaz, intitulée "Geçerek/ La traversée".
